Student Placement Policy

  • We aim to provide for students on placement with us. Experiences which contribute to the successful completion of their studies and which provide examples of quality practice in early years care and education.
  • We require schools placing their students with us to provide a reference referring to their character and overall nature the best they can. 
  • We supervise students under the age of 17 at all times and do not allow them to have unsupervised access to the children. 
  • Students who are placed at the Preschool are not counted in our Staffing Ratios. 
  • We take out employer’s liability insurance and public liability insurance, which covers both the students and any voluntary staff that may be on the premises. 
  • We require students to agree to our confidentiality policy. 
  • We cooperate with students and their tutors in order to help them fulfil their requirements for the course they are studying. 
  • We provide students at the start of the first session a short induction on how our preschool is managed, how we organise our sessions and our policies and procedures. 
  • We make the needs of the children paramount by not admitting students in large numbers, which can be overwhelming for the children and also hinder the essential work of the staff at the Preschoo
